Why do women hate Anne Hathaway?

Why do so many women feel disdain for Anne Hathaway? What is it about her that makes you feel that way?

OK, perhaps it's not as universal as I thought. It's been all over the news though so I'm not dreaming it up. Just do a quick Google search if you doubt it. I personally like her and am glad to see a lot of women have a positive view of her. Thanks for the responses.

Personally,I don't like her persona.I feel that she is slightly pretentious and mediocre.She is NOT a character actor,and due to Hollywood politics,other actresses aren't given the recognition they deserve.Its not about whether she is pretty or not,I just think she is pretty damn annoying.For example,she was embarrassed about the shot of her privates because SHE decided to not wear underwear.How STUPID are you?If you know you are wearing a dress getting out of an SUV,I'm sure she has done it before,I would not choose to NOT wear underwear.If you're in a compromising position,then I would much rather have the world see underwear,as opposed to...my "lips".Then she went on with some idiotic explanation...blah,blah...annoying.

In Brokeback mountain,she was a snoozer.Gosh!Boring as ever...especially towards the end.I wish Ang lee would have called her on it.Devil wears Prada...Boring.If it wasn't for Meryl Streep,I would NOT have watched that movie.Batman?For the love of God,they couldn't find someone else?She made the character goofy,NOT sexy,NOT witty...but campy. I was disappointed since the other supporting actress in the movie was initally considered to be Catwoman.They probably didn't allow that since she weighed a bit more than they would have liked.

I was annoyed also that she received an Oscar,but I also felt that way about the girl from Silverlinings Playbook...oh yeah...Jennifer Lawrence.The industry celebrates mediocrity very often.Which is unfortunate to those who are amazing performers who push the envelope and who actually CAN transform themselves into a character.Ann Hathaway isn't it.

Oh and that statement that they considered her initially, where did you get that from? Anne Hathaway was the first new name announced, MONTHS before JGL and MC.

Maybe that was a rumor,but who cares.Ann was still BORING and goofy.But she did look nice in the costume...that's about it.There were a lot of actresses to choose from...but ann almost ruined the movie for me.Thank god she wasn't in it too much.

The only part where she wasn't playing that great was when she was pretending to be freaking out. That was a bit of over-acting.

For most of your generic A list celebrities you'll find haters.. it sort of comes with the title of being a famous Hollywood star. So reason some women may hate her is for the same reason as some will hate *Insert some other Hollywood actress's name*. It's just out of jealousy usually.

They do? Wow, that hasn't been my experience. I love her! She's beautiful, intelligent, and lively; definitely one of my favorite actresses. Especially recently in Les Misérables- she was amazing! I'm glad she got the Oscar for best supporting actress.

I feel like it's the same reason why some black people will irrationally hate other (sometimes successful) black people... It seems like it's pure jealousy, there is this sense that they have achieved so much and why haven't I or can't I achieve that much when that person is so different from me

Fact is Anne Hathaway isn't a bomb shell, no doubt attractive but not more so then plenty of women. She is extremely smart. She doesn't compromise herself. She isn't out partying getting drunk and doing stupid stuff.

So really she comes across as this perfect person, talented, pretty, good head on her shoulders and for some reason that inspires what can only be pegged as jealousy by other people

I like and admire Tatum or Gosling and I don't know of any men who don't, although I'm sure they exist. Have there been stories in the media about men hating Tatum or Gosling? If so, I wasn't aware of that.

Definitely. Guys always call them names. I think those men are jealous that he's a ladies man. But the media truly overhypes things. The number of women that hate Anne Hathaway is probably very small.
