i don't know about normal...but he probably wants to see them to compare how you looked then to now...and to see a further resemblance to you and your parents...or just to see if you were cute as a baby or not...

or quite simply he wants to tease you(in a good, loving way), cooing and such at you while looking at the pic.

It's pretty normal if he likes you a lot. He just wants to know more about you and see how you grew up and how cute you were as a kid.
