Ever had an Idiotic Eureka Moment?

For those unfamiliar with the the concept, an Idiotic Eureka Moment is where you suddenly realize something that has always been common knowledge to everybody else.

For instance, last week it finally dawned on me that banoffee pie gets its name from a combination of the words banana and toffee. I'm 30 years old...

So, do you have any Idiotic Eureka Moments you'd care to share?

All the time. Kind of like my dad had to travel extensively when we were little for is job. Sometimes he would be gone up to six months at a time. So when he got back the kids were left and mom and dad went on a honeymoon as they called it. I asked what a honeymoon was once as a small child and my mom told me it was spending time sitting around talking about what they had seen on their trip and hearing lots of stories. I thought that was rather lovely as I was only little. About the time I graduated high school I figured out what was really up while telling one of my friends my parents were some crazy honeymooning people back in the day, and told my mom she was gross and horrid for leading me on that I thought they had these lovely excursions talking. She laughed so hard she fell out of her chair.

Specially as a kid, but still sometimes. You see my parent also kept in the dark for most of the stuff. I actually thought that sex means that the male and female kiss on the bed and then fall asleep and that's how they make an order for a baby and the stork brings it at some point. I believed that until I was 14 (which is really embarrassing)...And that's only one of those stories. I'm intelligent like normal but when you're brought up in life in the dark and you don't got no one to actually lead you into some basic human knowledge you usually end up like me (lol). And another thing is that we learn everyday all the time...

Haha yes! Idiotic eureka moments seem to be a regular thing for me. I also had that banoffee pie moment.

The other day I realized the "Two hours limit - no return within one hour" at a parking lot means that, once you drive away from the space, you can't park back in the same space within an hour of leaving. It does not mean that you can't return to your car in under an hour. I felt complete and utterly daft! I like to think I'm a rather intelligent person, but sometimes I have really off days lol
