Why do a lot of men drive pick up trucks?

Maybe its just my area but some tend to be for working. I still wonder why they feel the need to stare at girls walking on the sidewalk!

I know its summer but it still freaks me out. Are they looking to pick up girls or what?

Lol OK Thank You for the clarification, I live in the city but California isn't country to me. I was more use to men in cars with tinted window staring. Mostly older model "classic" cars try to pull over or "flashy"cars do.

I like cars more than trucks, but in my area women prefer men that drive trucks. There are a lot of country people here and most girls want a typical cowboy type of guy, and they all drive trucks. I have been told many times by my female friends that I should get a truck just to improve my image. So society does put pressure on men to drive trucks in some places in the country.

As far as why guys stare at girls walking on the sidewalk, it is because we like staring at girls no matter where we find them. It isn't because we think we are going to pick them up.

I have driven a pickup for 20 years, except for a one year break during which I drove a car. I won't do that again anytime soon.

I can't speak for others, for but me it has nothing to do with image or what I think women want...LOL. It's purely about utility. There is no substitute for a pickup when you need to haul something large and/or dirty.

its the same in my area , a lot of guys drive trucks for work purposes or just cause they like them . its normal for guys in cars or trucks to look at girls on the sidewalk , that really isn't a big deal unless they like stop and try and talk to you or something

Some use them for work. Some just like trucks, especially the bigger more powerful ones.

Straight guys look at girls. That's how it has always been and how it will always be.

They could be enjoying the view, but they wouldn't be upset if they could pick up a girl.
