Why thin people have long necks and big heads?

Whilst fat people have small heads and short or even invisible necks? I remember when I was fat it seemed that I had no neck,and my head was much smaller,but now that I'm thin it looks like my head has gone bigger and my neck grow longer.

Put some thought into it for 2 seconds, and it should make sense.

Not only does losing weight obviously remove the "fluff" from your body, thus revealing more of your natural features, but with weight on you the proportions just look different depending on the person's amount of body fat. So underneath everything, you had a long, slim neck the whole time. It's just that with the added "fluff", it tended to make the proportions look different as compared to your body.

And not to mention the fact that as you lose weight, you don't lose very much at all from your head itself. Your neck and face really only gain weight, but there's only so much they can lose before they stop. There's hardly enough skin on your head to allow room for facial muscles, so it pretty much stays the way it is (except for the lower parts of your face, and your neck of course).

Its not longer or bigger. it's just the relative size to the rest of the body.

It's relative. If your head looks too big or small for your body then in reality you body is too small or big. There are a lot of skinny people with proportionate heads. They were just never meant to be fat and vice-verse with strongly built people with bigger heads. You head does store some fat though. And your neck can store a lot of fat and so merge with fat shoulders.

actually my head is very big compared with my torso. When I was checking myself into the mirror,i thought that my torso is only 1.5 times bigger than my head or so.

Any chance you've got thick hair/need a hair cut? You could just have a big head but it's not common if you're not underweight.

That's pretty obvious.

Because there's either too much fat, causing things to look larger sideways, therefore you look wider, and shorter in specific parts such as neck looks shorter, waist looks shorter, etc.. OR you don't have enough fat, causing things to look longer not wider, making you appear taller, long neck, long torso, and so on.

I'm pretty sure you can't actually lose fat from your body, it just moves from one part to another. So if you lose weight in your middle region it just gets pushed up to your head right? Or more rarely, down to your feet.

its just relative. necks look longer because there's less flesh covering it. head looks bigger because neck is thinner.

my boyfriend has a very long neck and an average-sized head. it makes him look graceful like a dancer.
