Guys - What does, "I'm not ready for a relationship" mean?

I know that in the world of women, "I'm not ready for a relationship," often means either; I am ready for relationship, just not with you, or I'm actually not ready for a relationship and that person isn't the one to sway me from that place, because the right one will change your mind. Right now, for me, I'm in a place where I'm not ready for a relationship, but there is someone I really like, but I still need to finish healing me, before I can be good for someone else. So, even though I do think he could be the one, I'm not ready because I want to be all in, not broken if a relationship forms.

But, actually, my question is; when guys say "I'm not ready for a relationship," what does it mean for them?

It could be two things:

1- He says what he means "hes really NOT ready for a relationship"

or

2- He wants to fool around until he finds the "right one". It can be a number of things, but those two should be looked at the most.

1. I want to continue having fun and not commit because I don't see you asgf material.

2. I have relationship issues... either I'm a flirt, playboy or I just have insecurities and trust issues.

Usually means they want to sleep about and don't want commitment in the way.
