“not ready for a relationship”?

Last night my guy came over to talk and tells me how he’s got so many problems, he’s so stressed out and wishes he could disappear at times.. and he does. we stood there hugging and talking- me being positive, patient and understanding. And then he tells me how he wishes he had met me sooner. I asked to elaborate, and he tells me he doesn't know how to put it into words but I’m everything he’s wanted but he’s not ready for a relationship. He was living with a woman before me for 8+ years, he lied to me about being broken up with her for a year (it had been 3 months when he met me) and we’ve been “official” for a month. I know guys mean what they say, I’m not in denial. I told him I would leave him alone for a couple of days to think things through, and then we can talk if he wants. I don’t want to force him and I am not trying to change his mind, however, I’ve caught feelings and i would love to make things work out. What would be the best way to go about this?

I spend the night with him, have met his children, and cousins. He isn’t with her anymore. He works from 4am to 8pm and he goes home to shower and comes straight over to spend time with me. I don’t think he’s lying to me.

He works SIXTEEN hours a day? Really?

He works 16 hour days, REALLY. His company is down the street from my sisters house. He drives a belly dump truck and a 18-wheeler hauling material for a concrete company. And i said, he said “HE WISHES HE COULD DISAPPEAR” not that he actually does. He spends his weekends with me, he texts and calls throughout the day. I dont doubt his fidelity, that wasn't the question.🙄

I meant “he does” as in HE DOES have a lot of problems. Again, his fidelity is not in question..

Looks like he still love her ex. I would just move on, there's big probabilities they get back together. Looks like he though he could forget her with you but he still loves her. Just move on and wish him the best.

" not ready for a relationship" is something I would say to not hurt the girl im with if there is someone else i wanna be with.
