Accidentally declined a Twitter request and need some help?

I know that you cannot undo if you accidentally decline a twitter request but I had this celb following me back and was so excited that I accidentally clicked decline I am so stupid! I figured that if I unfollowed and followed him again it would get me near the top of his list again so he could click follow again, but I keep ending back in the same place I was before on his list I was wondering is there any way I could get back near the top o his list. Help seriously appreciated!
