I have liked him for a long time now and I try to talk to him but he totally ignores me. He also knows that I like him because all my friends have told him. What can I do to make him like me.

You have to go to war on multiple front, there is no ultimate solution like offering him chocolate that could work if he totally ignores you.

How you talk to him and what you tell him is one thing you can work on. Tell us more about it. Is it a casual "hello" ? Is it school talk ?

Changing your behavior and your body language should alos be considering a priority.

And even if you don't like it you would have to consider if he finds you physically attractive or not. Do you have a reality check ?

i know everyone said you can't make him like you so I don't think you mean it as in forcing him to like you.

i guess you should try and pay attention to other people, talk to more guys so he can doubt on you liking him, that could spark his attention. be confident when you talk to him and make jokes. ignore him back but subtly, like you are ignoring him but not on purpose.
