What does it mean when He says " He wants to get Closer"?

I have been dating this guy for about 7mos now. We are on a casual relationship. We have been seeing and being intimate for 7mos. Spending intimaye time with him every week, obviously for me we are close enough. He recently been telling me He wants to get closer to me...and whenever we do something new He would say that its because He wants to be close to me. I am not sure what He really means by "closer" as for me I think He is already close me.
Why can't men be straight to their words?As such He used to use word from...like...then...adore and recently "luv"...I somehow being on Casual Rel I dont want to ask Q directly...I want to avoid awkward moment.

He probably means he wants to know you better. If you guys aren't living together he wants to start talking about doing that. If you guys have had sex he obviously doesn't mean that. If he hasn't meet your family or vice versa then he probably wants to do that. Just talk to him about it

We'll we have been having sex, that's why I wonder what "closer" He means. I am a bit reluctant to be open to him. Whenever we are together and being intimate He tells me this and I dont know how to respond as I am not sure what He meant by it. So what should I do or how should I response to that?

Thank you. Well, for men point of view Is it a taboo that It would be a man who would show a sign on crossing the boundary of a "Casual Rel"?It is commonly the woman who would express it first. I do like him but I am unsure of getting attached to him emotionally. Experiences had taught us, I guess reason why some of us are in " Casual".
