Fess up... what's in it?

I was always taught in Spanish class, by both a Mexican and Argentinan teacher that it makes a "Y" sound. However, I was recently in the Yucatan and Panama and people were saying it with more of a "j"/"dz" sound. Vijahermosa, Vijanueva, Medejin, Como te jamas? I've never heard anyone say "janos" for llanos though or "jevar" for llevar. They seem to mostly do this with place names. I assumed it was just regional dialect, but I've NEVER heard MEXICANS say it that way before, that's why I was confused. Is it just a Yucatan thing?

From what I could tell after all the research I did, around mid-late 1991 is when the 80s culturally ended. Is that right?

If the guy has a good paying job (75,000 dollars a year), is handsome, has so many positive qualities and everything you would want in a man but he doesn't have any family just 3 family members who are not the best. the mother uses him as a son husband and doesn't like you and has caused issues in the relationship. his brother is mid 30s and still single and doesn't have any relationship with her brother. the youngest sister has bipolar disorder and seems so-so.

nonetheless he has shown that he would never let anyone come between us.

so is it worth continuing?

Let's say he's perfect on paper.

tall, educated, handsome, fit. no kids, no baggage, no crazy exes.

got his life together and is saying all the right things. but when you take a look at his dating history, he's had 4 relationships (over a year) with women that were all fine asl. professional women with something going for themselves and all of them baddies in every sense of the word

but he ended it every time. the reasons are always vague, he doesn't really want to talk about it. when pressed he says something like "we were in different stages in life" or "we wanted different things"

he wasn't cheating, you confirmed that.
