I like both, cats for their independence and unique personalities. on the downside... they are murderous creatures that will kill anything even for fun.

I like dogs in that they can do some work if trained well. like seeing, searching, smelling for illnesses, etc.. their value may be higher.

Before, I prefer cats because we always had dogs and it became so mainstream but now, the cats are getting mainstream and I missed my dog. I like both tho but I'm in a mood for dogs now.

Honestly it's a difficult choice, as both are adorable. Cats are more quiet, mysterious, independent, whereas dogs are goofy, friendly, protective and loyal

I love both, but cats will always occupy first place in my heart. Grew up with them and have two lovely girls living with me, a norwegian forest cat and a maine coon.

Get one, she isn't your mom, you can have whatever pets you want. Get a beginner species though, don't go for arboreal ones right away, if they escape the enclosure its much harder to get those back in.
