Yeah it was a long time ago but I recall it like it was yesterday. Major car wreck right outside my house. Hit and run. I was probably 8 years old at the time and I was looking outside the window when it happened. The lady (victim) driving the car died on the spot and her daughter (about my age at the time) lived. I was home alone for a bit so I didn't know what to do. Ambulance showed up with some cop cars. That's all I remember.

When I was a cop I went to several fatal accidents. One was after a pursuit. The guy hit a pothole, blew a tire at over 100+ mph, bounced off a row of K-rails, flipped over and landed on the roof. His head was almost torn off a d his blood was draining from his body. A fucked up scene.

No. I was in a train once that someone jumped in front of but they covered everything up before letting us out. I walked by a place where a cyclist died but it was also all covered up already. The bus didn't continue driving because of the accident but I had to continue in that direction so I came by the scene where it happened. And once we saw a guy on the ground on the sidewalk and I called the police it looked like he was hit by a car because a car was standing right next to where he was lying but it turned out he was just an old guy who fell off his e-bike and was confused. His family came to pick him up and they were very grateful and happy that he was alright.

I didn't have any bad reactions to any of these events and neither when my grandparents died on my mothers side. I don't know something is weird about me and grief I think it has to do with my autism I don't fully understand it but I had to learn to be fine by myself and now it's hard to unlearn that. I don't like to volatile situations so I don't want super high highs and then low lows when I lose someone or someone hurts me or something like that. I think that's why I don't feel as much. But with my girlfriend I do. She does have the power to hurt me and I guess that is progress but I still have a lot to learn :)

I've seen and experienced many things with death over the course of my life. One of which in particular haunts me to this day.

The most recent though was a guy was riding underneath a railcar on the tracks right beside my work and I guess the tarp thing he had around himself got caught on something but he got dragged to the ground and cut into several pieces underneath the train.

I've seen two dead bodies after accidents: one was a man who dove off a pylon at a beach into shallow water and broke his neck, and the other was a motorcyclist who had been hit by a vehicle.
