Any of the first 3 options make sense...
L/M/R - you have long messy hair, get it cut, and look nice
R/L/M - you look nice, your hair grows out, you get it cut
M/R/L - you get a haircut, look nice, your hair grows out
The other options don't make much sense.

Seems like left (long hair), middle (gets hair cut), right (after hair cut).

That's what happened to me. I started growing my hair long in high school. Then, when I was 26, I got handed a great job and had to get my hair cut and start acting like a grown up.
