Lerwick, Scotland has just held its annual Up-Helly-Aa fire festival to celebrate its Viking heritage. There was plenty of raping and pillaging but it was all in good fun ending with the burning of a Viking longship and any evidence. For the first time, in an act of Viking wokery, women were allowed to carry burning torches in the parade.

Now we've all heard about the question, "How often do you think of the Roman Empire?" so let's twist that into, "How often do you think of the Viking Empire?"

Yes I know it wasn't technically an empire but let's not split hairs.

But Love and Hate are opposite emotions we all know. So what similarities do they really possess?

*Both are Extreme emotions

*Both are felt about someone because of who they are and how we feel about them

*Both have strong desires for a finite end result. We wish those we love to thrive and greatly succeed at all that they do. We wish for all their dreams to come true. While we wish pain and failure for those that we hate and for all their dreams to end in nightmares.

Let's say that you really love someone but find out they cheated on you. At first you are left in shock and disbelief. Next the shock turns to hurt and pain. Then the emotion starts to switch to anger. Finally a hatred sets in and grows deeper as you realize what a fool you have been taken for... you know I'm right!

Love and hate are related emotions because they are both strong and intense and directed towards someone in particular and many times that same someone is on the receiving end of both, and maybe by their own doing.

I have to admit my year has started out with a bang and I mean that in a good way. I've made so many changes and have much more clarity. I'm so proud of me trying new things.

I recently got into an argument with some of my friends about my strenght. Im 5'11, 170 lbs and workout for 3 years very consistently. I also practice Bjj for over a year and had a self defence straining. Im pretty confident that i can defend my self from most of the man. But some people arround me think that guys can still win in any scenario. Do you think i can defend myself? (Im not talking about some MMA scenario just a scenario where some avarage drunk Joe tries to be a bit too close with me in a club and I can't make him stop in a good way). If you have any experiences with something like this please let me know ☺️

I used to be so against Valentine's day until I fell in love with my current boyfriend and now I'm not really against it anymore. It's amazing what love will do lol

So I make healthy snacks that can be really expensive to make, awhile ago my boyfriend would ask me for some since it seemed like he liked them as well as his coworker really liked them. This would be almost an every other week thing roughly. So once he stopped working with her he stopped asking for it and it seemed like he never really liked them because if he did I feel like he would still ask for them even though he’s not working with her at the time.

A couple months ago I gave him some without him even asking, he brought it to work and as always he says his coworker really likes them and last time he had them he complained how messy they were. Now all of a sudden since he is working with his coworker again and he told me his coworker asked for a fresh batch of them.

If it’s once or twice of asking for them then sure no problem I’d give it to him, but my problem is he didn’t ask for them for himself and it’s been more than twice where he would ask for them for his coworker to have.

Hii there! I need your help!

There is a very shy boy in my college that I like. We are both 21 years old. I thought he might like me as he seemed quite nervous when he was talking to me, he didn't ask me a you, he kept enough distance between us and I have seen him look at me several times and sometimes smile a little (I know these are subtle signs but I thought may be signs). I asked him how he was doing personally and he replied that he was not at all interested in being with anyone and that he should get to know the other person well first and he didn't ask me if I have someone. I told him to exchange social media if I want to ask him something about the school and he said we will meet in person, no need, we are not lost. He never greets first either (I think because he is very shy and doesn't talk to many people). I know his parents are very strict. One time his mother called 2 times when we talked to ask him where he is and why he is late. In social events, he is always with them and he seem kinda lost and unhappy. I believe they influenced him based of his shy and not social behaviour.

Is this typical shy guy behavior to reject someone? Should I give up and move on?
