I was playing a game with a story where if you're born as a half demon, you'd appear human and have an elemental power that they can't choose. It's random. People fear them but some envy them. But if you were, which one would you wish to have?

I wake up every morning, but the world is still so loud.

I see their eyes are staring; I see their heads in clouds.

They whisper when they see me like I’m less than who I am.

But they don’t know the silence, and they don’t understand

The voices that they mock me with, they tear apart my heart.

Silent tears fall from my eyes as I hide behind the quiet skies.

They don’t see the pain, don’t know the fight to be seen, to be heard, to feel alive.

Ooh, I’m more than my silence; I’m more than listening, but I’m drowning in the echoes of their shame.

I wish I could be spoken to; I wish they’d see my face and not the shadow of my sorrow or the emptiness at chase.

They smile, they laugh, they speak their truths, but they forget my soul.

Then I’m just like them inside, just trying to be whole.

I see them turn away from me; I feel the stare of scorn, but all I want is to be seen, to feel I’m not for
