When you're on a date at a restaurant with a long term partner or prospect, do you prefer he/she orders a meaty dish or a veggie dish?

The point of going out to a place where you can order your own food and have what you like is kind of obvious. For me, barring anything that would send the other person into anaphylactic shock anything on the menu is fair game.

I have a good friend, for example, who I meet for brunch on occasion. If she's with me, i avoid ordering pineapples and she avoids ordering truffles (each other's severe allergies) but everything else is fair game. As a result, sometimes we can share two dishes or sometimes we just enjoy what we were in the mood for, period. (She's into steaks and fries. I'm more of a fish-and-veggie gal.)

I prefer they order what they like. I will notice how health-conscious they are based on their order, though. I like balance; not obsessive, but not thoughtless. I'd be concerned about the health of a guy who was a total vegetarian, though, just as much as I would be with a guy who ordered a burger, fries and milkshake.

While I would have problems trying to date a vegetarian/vegan, because I cook a lot of meat and meat dishes, if she was a meat eater generally, but just wanted a veggie meal somewhere, I would not care whatsoever. The point of a restaurant is to have a larger selection and to be able to order something you like.

I don't eat seafood, but I have taken girlfriends to places where she ordered shrimp or lobster or fish and I was happy she could indulge in that. I just don't want that myself.

Order what you like to eat now some people seem to feel bad assuming I’ll foot the bill so they just order a salad or something. But like get what you really want I want her to enjoy the meal as well

Meaty or I don't care - she and I wouldn't be vegetarian / vegan + unless something had happened in her life ) my life. Life is a funny thing how it pans out / diseases / allergies - hell you never know sigh cancers :( illnesses

Huh? I don't understand. If I'm on a date with someone, I expect them to order whatever they enjoy. Order a bowl of ice cream if that's what you're craving.

I don't really care, as long as she doesn't criticize what I order either. The only issue I would have was if she was ordering vegan food. I don't think I could date a vegetarian though.

To be fair you can order vegan or vegetarian meal without being vegan or vegetarian like the meal can sound good and you ll order it, for pizza my favorite is mozzarella basil one but I'm not vegetarian

@alice55 I know. Vegan food is gross though. Some girl at my work brought a vegan pizza and it smelled so bad. One girl tried some then got sick and I kept telling everyone it was from the pizza😂
We accidentally bought some vegan tomato sauce a while ago and it was so nasty.
Vegetarian food isn't as bad though. Me and my buddy tried a veggie burger before and actually liked it, and I bought it a few more times and another guy was making fun of me😂 But it actually tasted good, and it was a good way to get my veggies in.
But most regular restaurants don't serve vegan food.
My dad won't order anything that doesn't have meat in it. If it's veggies he throws a hissy fit XD

a fruit salad is vegan and it taste good a lot of vegan food taste good as is it simply stuff like vegetable, fruit pasta, rice, etc... but when they start to copy normal food and make vegan version it's when it start to taste bad.

But all tomate sauce are vegan though tomato sauce is onion tomato and olive oil all of them are vegan technically XD

I tried vegetarian / vegan meat and didn't like it, vegetarian burger I tried it one time and it was really good cause they put fried cheese instead of meat.

In France most restaurant don't even serve vegetarian food only big city does.

I've never tried fake meat and I don't want too, but veggie burger is fine, 'cuz it's just regular vegetables.

It's hilarious to see vegans/vegetarians go to foreign countries and complain that they can't get vegetarian/vegan food.
But my favorite was when this Muslim guy accidentally ate pork😂

I saw a video where a pizza delivery guy in Naples put pineapple on people's pizzas and they completely flipped out. Some people even chased him, hit him and threatened violence against him😂

I wouldn't be surprised considering we've seen the same videos a few times. Part of me hopes it's fake because that's not a normal reaction, but having been to Italy I don't think it is. They're far worse than the French when it comes to messing with their food.
