There isn't a better thing in life than kissing.

Be it the gamut of feelings shared between lovers or the bastion of meaning it represents between friends and family, it has no compare.

Here are my favorite types:

1. The Soul Stillness Kiss

The kiss where time stops in awe of the connection between two in a moment of stillness where two souls melt as one. Such an aura of oneness pervades within the feelings of appreciation, awe and intense love. You live for the kiss craving it with it becoming the beat in your heart and the song of your soul.

The adrenaline rush leading to that moment and it's all about the joyous uncertainty. It is more touching when you have yearned to kiss the person for a long time and finally the moment arrives.

It could be anything from damn awful to earth shattering or everything in between.

You just love the wonder beforehand and get off by the knowing after. I have always found such clarity in a first kiss highlighted by knowing I would marry my ex-wife after we shared in our initial embrace of lips.

3. The Baby Kiss

Magic is the only word I can summon to try to explain the meaning of a baby kiss. It is so true, tender and sincere as you gently lavish them with your affectionate and loving regard. When they get to the age where they reciprocate and kiss back it reduces you to tears through the meaning.

4. The Kiss of Wonder

Teasing, tantalizing and often taunting.

Making the other wonder about what is about to come as their mind races. Piquing their arousal with the possibilities and naughtily exploiting their vulnerability. The innocent delves into the suggestively lurid and damn right lurid. Building the tension as you tap into their mindset and flip it through your intensity and the lingering legacy of it.

The heat goes up as you have them resembling a cat on a hot tin roof. Taking it a step further about where you kiss next, the nape of the neck, base of the shoulders or maybe even kneel before her and suggestively kiss her inner thighs

5. The Good Night Kiss

As both a parent and son/grandson, I always thought this kiss had such meaning in life.

It usually was accompanied with a warm embrace where you just felt wrapped in love and protected from any and all. If you were sleeping, you felt it in your being. I always believed this when I kissed my three kids as they slumbered after finishing a night shift and a smile always appeared on their face even when they were in the land of nod.
