in my opinion (lol) it's a good thing, i mean you don't want to be stubborn or selfish about it, but not being opinionated sucks. I was really shy up until high school and was always afraid of voicing my opinion because i thought i would be laughed at & judged, and because of that stupid fear i missed a lot of opportunities and just felt like a life unlived until i learned to speak up for myself.

It's definitely attractive :)

stubbornness is only one definition of being opinionated, the 2 don't necessarily have to go hand in had, they just can.

It's great to be opinionated, and to think for yourself. there is nothing more attractive in my friendships and relationships than someone who is opinionated. That being said though it is also important to still be respectful of other's no matter how stupid you think their opinion is. People who are disrespectful are the most unattractive and removes all attractiveness in my opinion.

Depends. When I lived in the NE part of the US you could voice your opinion, always in a respectful, constructive way, but it was not an issue.

Now that I live in the South, OMG, you have to talk in circles until the horse, pigs, and cows come home. So no, here you don't voice your opinion directly.

I think it's a bad thing whether you're male or female. Everybody has their own opinions and nobody wants somebody else's forced on them. I think it's better to have an open mind and just agree to disagree.

That's the only official definition for the word. People may use it in another sense, but it's not technically right.

Context is everything; like the word redemption, it has 4-5 different meanings depending on the context.

Yes but the difference between "redemption" and "opinionated" is that redemption actually has more than one official definition, "opinionated" doesn't.

Because yourdictionary.com isn't 100% accurate. It's almost like the wikipedia of definitions. You'll find your definitions on there but it may be a little off. The website's team wrote that definition and they probably also have the same incorrect understanding of the word as most of the people here. If you look at the definitions they have listed on that site that came from the more reputable dictionaries, they all line up with the definition I gave you.

Being opinionated is good...I frankly find it stupid to blindly believe ANYTHING.

That is how people end being in a "sheep mentality".

There's a difference between having an opinion and being stubborn. I have known people who are true followers and can't make their own opinions, or at least voice them, and that is really unattractive
