ok well we talked for a month, we dated for three months. He broke up with me so he can focus on school and he said nothing was going to change, but it has changed a little bit. he told me he cared about me a lot and likes me a lot and then he put a picture of me on his instagram and told me that I was the only on girl on their so basically that should mean something. I asked him if we would get back together when he gets his life together and he said yea, but i am feeling more distant. he went from talking to me everyday to half a day to hitting me up every now and then and I like him a lot. So i am just confused because his actions don't back up his words. He tells me that I am his #1 babe and that it would bother him if i did talk to another guy or hung out with him, but said that I could. It is like i know he likes me and cares, but i don't feel it

Whenever you have a conflict between people's words and actions, ALWAYS listen to their actions. Talk is cheap, and sometimes loud, but never louder than facts.
If he's pulling away, then he's likely to have lost interest. It's also likely there's someone else in the picture.
If he wanted to focus on school, he could've done it without breaking up with you. No, it simply appears to me that he simply wanted to break up with you without hurting you, and used school as a scapegoat. And he kept calling you babe, because if his current plans fail you'd still be there to take him back.
This behavior is weird on a guy, but it's the only one that makes sense.

Hold your breath, I'm actually going to agree with Nightingale. With an added caveat, his actions lean more towards the need to control you. You have shown him that you can be easily controlled and he is more than willing to take advantage of that weakness... Divine Wisdom dictates there are three kinds of relationships. The first is inhabited by two takers, short lived at best. When one or the other is done taking it is over. The second relationship is inhabited by a taker an a giver. It can go on for a very long time. The taker will take as long as the giver can give. The giver needs to be given to or they will eventually be sucked dry. This relationship is doomed to failure due to the fact it is unequally balanced. The last relationship is inhabited by two givers, HEAVEN on earth. Two people trying to out give each other. If you are not in a relationship that consists of two givers then I suggest you keep looking for the right relationship, it will save you a bunch of heart ache...
