Why do people stop talking instead admit they were wrong?

I used to be that dude, but it just doesn't work out. People used to always shout and id be like "youre right." Later all you hear is "youre such a bitch"

1) It looks weak cause people who think they are right usually start arsing their voice. If you just shut up after someone talks like that to you you look like a bitch
2) It make you look like a pussy bitch and girls/guys dont like pussy bitches

Now if you are speaking politely (usually not the case)
Most likely blinding pride. People who think they are always right always make a very wrong move one day

Oh yea I notice that a lot
Some would stop talking completely but some just really have a hard time owning up to things. It's probably because it gives them a one down instead of a one up and they like to have one up's when in a relationship (friends etc)
