20 years old, my girlfriend is 21. We have been together for a year. She has always painted a picture of our future, saying things like she can't wait to move in together after she graduates, get married, buy a house, etc. I know perhaps those are just things that people say when they're in the honeymoon stage of their relationship, but still it was always nice to hear the optimism from her.
Once school ended for her this semester, I have noticed some small changes. I noticed she deleted all of my comments from her Instagram and also deleted all of her comments from mine. I asked her about this and she said she didn't remember why she did.
Then the other day I told her that I love her forever and always, like we always have said, but this time she said "I can't promise forever because sometimes people fall out of love, but right now I love you." I told her that kind of bothered me and she apologized and said she hopes we are together forever and started acting herself again for a few days.
Then yesterday the same thing happened, she again said "I don't know about forever, I don't know the future, but right now I love you." &Then throughout the day she said things like "I can't wait to live with one of my best girl friends someday!" "My mom said people are better off single, can you believe that?" "I don't want to ever get married, and if I do, it won't be until I'm in my late 40s."
I'm not sure if these are small signs that a breakup is coming my way, or perhaps it is just a new stage in the relationship and I'm being too sensitive. Thanks in advance for your input
