Texting less as relationship progresses?

Boyfriend of about 7 months is texting me less. He still texts me everyday, but it's a noticeable drop-off from the level of texting we did in the beginning, or even just a few months ago. He lets conversations drop a lot, and sometimes just stops texting me at night.

We still make plans to see each other, have plans for a month+ in the future, and things are great whenever we're together. We've met each other's family and friends, he includes me in his hobbies, etc.

Is the reduced texting anything to be concerned about?

I think a big issue with a lot of relationships is that people end up putting social media or their phones in the middle of their relationship. Both can pretty much become like having a 3rd person in the middle of the relationship. It might not be easy to do, but I think you two need to work on seeing each other in person more. Also instead of texting so much a Skype or zoom call would be preferable. Simply because that will the two of you to have more contact then a simple text.

It could be. I think a lot of contact between people in a relationship can move to far into things like social media and texting. To the point that it can be very detrimental due to the lack of actual in person contact can cause people to start moving away. As nice as texting or messaging often can be. I don't think it will ever take the place of doing something as simple as sitting around and eating a cheap ass frozen pizza with someone. Simply because doing so would mean that people would actually be together and have a level connection that something like texting can never provide.

Also I think a relationship based around a lot of texting can suffer. Because it can very much create a disconnection between two people simply because something like texting is very impersonal form communication. So it can start creating the same feelings that a long distance relationship has. Simply because of the lack of a connection. It can the same issues where people start thinking things like, I love this person and I want to be with them. But I need them here. So it can cause frustration and that frustration can cause people to start taking steps back.

So even if its something as simple as eating at mcdonalds or sitting around and watching a movie. I think having more in person contact is always better then texting or messaging on [insert website here] is the way to go.

Guys just aren't that into texting... We basically do it because we are forced to...
doesn't mean he likes you any less, just means he feels more relaxed in your relationship that he no longer has to do things he doesn't like just to keep you interested.
