I believe it's not the most hurtful thing, but is still very hurtful to be rejected or abandoned specially if there were a lack of a logical reason. Beign abandoned can make the abandoned person powerless, out of control of the situation and left with a feeling of guilt, beign defective or that they have terrible flaws they are not beign aware of. However if the person is healthy they can overcome this thoughts easily.
Could you be trying to abandon people and behaving in a certain way to try to force people to abandon you because deep down you fear to be out of control and be abandoned without a logical explanation?
