I don't have to like or feel affection to people to help them out, it's just doing what's right.

I understand you. In my country (es-tu Français?) I hate everybody because of terrible past experiences and tend to be... precautions towards others even in UK where I feel like I belong. To me it's special, it's people from one country that I hate every single one of them. But even if I see them has enemies I won't leave them be in a bad position. My parents taught me to be the better person and to help people because that's charitable and you must always be kind to others even when you feel persecuted
Thank you for your answer.
Actually I'm from Corsica (my mother is French, my father Italian) and have lived in Italy since I was 5. The dialect I speak with my mother is a Corsican dialect which is a mixture of proper French and Genoese dialect.
My French is passable though.
SHUT IT. I'M CORSICAN TOO! I consider Corsica has my country and France just the add up 😂 VIVA CORSICAN!
😂😂😂
I think the mainlanders wouldn't be too happy to be considered the add up!
Anyhow, my mother is really fluent in French and has lived in Marseille.
But nowadays we all live in a Milanese suburb town.
oui oui baguettes and pizzas
@AFellowWeeb funnily enough, I hate pizza and bread.
@jean-marie_celine 😱😱😱😱😱😱
The perfect example is siblings. I can't stand my shithead younger sister, she tests my patience everyday. But I couldn't ever ignore a call of help from her. I feel the same way towards most people.
That's basically been my epiphany this month to round out my year and a new life lesson for me into the future: i do exactly just that, i still detest some people, but i'm also wanting to lift them up at the same time. It's easy to smile. You see.
I try to live as you stated in your description.
You don't have to like people to get along with them in public or just be a good neighbor or person in general. It also depends on the type of situation for me as well though.

I think its great that you help people out weather you have yo or not. Not liking a person doesn't mean you can't help them. I think it takes a lot of courage and shows a lot of character about a person who can give help to someone they don't like for whatever the reason. And if you help someone out and dont look for thanks or gratitude and just feel good about yourself because you did help majes you that much of a better persin! GOOF FOR YOU!!
Depends on who you're helping. Like if you help strangers then fine but if you help the same people that fuck you over then you have issues.
Sure you can, why would you not be able to separate the two situations_
Yes, I guess that you can but not sure why you would
It's possible, you want to help , doesn't mean you have to like or get on with them...
Bad question. You should have asked 'Can you do the right thing for the wrong reasons?'... that would have made a better question.
Side note over. Now to answer the question you asked.
Yes, it's possible, but only with the abnormal & contradictory mindset you describe. It's neither a right or healthy way to interact with other, because you help them with your own satisfaction in mind or because you feel it's an obligation (to quote yourself: 'I don't have to like or feel affection to people to help them out, it's just doing what's right.'). So in summation they are the mean to an end.
Maybe you do that to make up for the abysmal failures of your home life, but it has little meaning if you help strangers while neglecting family and friends or actively hate them like you seem to do.
Overall the net is still negative and doing charity or the like doesn't make you a good person.
Bad answer, I'm going to delete it and block you.
It's not contradictory at all. You can be disgust by human kind and yet follow the precept that we taught you "be kind to others. When someone is bad give the other cheek". You are just being judgmental
Same, i like helping people, it makes me smile if i helped someone, but i hate humans anyway
Yes separate to though I might let someone fall just joking. I done it at work one was my parents who rejected me.
Given everyone detests me because of my race why would I help any of them.
It's totally possible.
i do the same as you.
I hope so, I’ve been detesting people for ages.
Not really, at least not in my profession.
I do it all the time. Lol
Technically yes I do it at work everyday
Yes you can. It’s known as pride super ego.
Yes human nature
yes some people so disgusting
