Is it wrong to defriend a person who is hated by most?

im friends with a guy who 98% of people hates. He is nice looking but has a nasty attitude. He is very nice to me and we've been friends for about 3 years. Everyone doesn't like him and i feel left out being the only one to like him. I think everyone will hate me for hating him.

If you don’t have a reason to hate him, then why let outside opinions matter? Never let other peoples opinions influence your own. You don’t know if they are hating him for other reasons

I think it's wrong to let other people decide who you do and do not like. But based on the way you describe him you made a good case to have less to do with him. No one can answer this question for you.
