Can a friend be a hater as well?

My friend never compliments me, and she keeps making "jokes" about me that are very hurtful. She always tries to one up me. If I say I did something, she always has to say that she did something better. I don't know what to do?

This person you described isn't a friend but a "fake friend". Choosing to stay with someone like this is your choice as any jealousy/envy rears it's ugly head and can take a huge toll on your life. If you're not careful.

maybe she is jealous of u. sounds like that. u dont need her as a friend. but if u feel like she is your bestie then u need distance. just ignore her. maybe she has problems? family etc...

Yes, nowadays a friend can be a hater as well. she may be jealous of you cause you may be better than her at somethings. there is also a possibility that she might have made you her friend just to make fun of you and to make you feel bad about yourself.
