My girlfriend threw the personalized necklace I gave her on the garage floor after a fight. What do you think of that?

She sent a text that said, "I'll drop the necklace off". I heard the garage door open and close and then she drove off. When I went into the garage, I found the necklace on the garage floor, as if it had been thrown in there.

We fought her birthday plans. She wanted to go out of town I told her I ran out of money because of Christmas shopping, so we couldn't do anything too extravagant (her birthday is the day after Christmas). She told me I should have budgeted for it, but I told her I didn't because she originally told me she didn't want to do anything but hang out at home.

I gave her that necklace for her bday last year. It had her name and her son's name (he passed away) with both their birth stones and a heart. It was expensive. I met her at a grief group for two years. We both were there because we had recently lost our sons, so I thought it would be special for her.

Ah she's doing all of this over her birthday? Either she's upset about something else or she's crazy. Her reaction was harsh.. the necklace seems like its something she'd value. But also when a woman says she wants nothing for her bday it means spoil the shit out of me lol... her reaction was rough but maybe she's feeling something else n taking it out on you.

then women need to learn to say that. if you tell me nothing, thats roughly what you'll get. say what you mean and mean what you say.

Although I completely agree with you, I have been known to react similar to what she did. I told my spouse I wanted nothing for my bday this past August n when I woke up to nothing, I hate a temper tantrum. Here's the thing, no one wants to say, "spoil me, buy me nice things, show me your love through monetary ways." Bc then, she looks like a gold digging asshole.. women 101 - every woman wants to feel like a princess. N unfortunately this comes with shelling out cash. People who have bdays close to holidays get the shorter end of the stick n this isn't fair to them bc it isn't their fault they were born on that day n we don't treat people this way who have bdays that aren't close to holidays.. they get gifts n spoiled both times. Granted what she did was hurtful, she was kind of right. You should have planned for her bday better... learn to speak women lol we have our language. We aren't like men who get straight to the point... most men are more emotionally mature than women when it comes to speaking what we truly feel at that moment.

It comes from fear.. I've dated men and women.. n its easier to express what you're feeling with women. With a man, I always felt like I'd scare him off or upset him. Its from fear... Also women tend to be overly emotional bc its who we are chemically. The estrogen in our body makes us emotional beings... but its a constant battle of "should I say this or should I keep it to myself or am I over thinking this or am I on point?" Honestly, I think the challenges we give one another as humans is what keeps things interesting. Women can't speak human, we only speak crazy lol.. i think its all about knowing what type or how much crazy you can actually deal with... if we took the time to put ourselves in the other person's shoes a ton of issues could be avoided.. such as the poster.. he should have asked himself, "would i like for someone to spoil me?" Also ots about knowing your partner.
