So we went to supermarket yesterday and my fiancé bought flowers and a card for a female colleague for her birthday. My friend said this isn’t right? I don’t personally see the problem. They weren’t romantic roses, just a cheap bunch of flowers?

If it had been just a regular Thursday and he decided to buy her flowers that would have been strange (but still need to look at context, maybe she got dumped and was sad or something). Don't let pressure from others turn you into a controlling fiancé, because it's seems like you are pretty easy-going.

Maybe he's trying chair her up or something. Now if he starts buying her flowers and chocolates then I'll be concerned.
