Does 12 year age difference cause problems in a relationship?

What do you think about this? Does the woman being 12 years younger than the man cause a problem in the relationship?

My husband is 16 years younger than me and we have a great relationship. In fact, I've got a way better relationship with him than men my age I've been with. However, there are a few reasons for this.
1) We don't have a maturity gap. He's very mature and I'm (in all honesty) a little immature. Consequently we're at a compatible maturity level.
2) We both wanted a long term committed relationship
3) We both wanted kids together (and I could still have them. In fact, I think him being so much younger was actually an advantage in this regard. His younger sperm made it much easier for me to get pregnant/have healthy kids than if it had been sperm from a guy my age or older)
4) We didn't let the judgement from the age gap we get from others bother us.
5) The age gap wasn't a problem in our personal goals.
6) We both share the same values.
It's actually common for an age gap to be correlated with one of those things above. If any of those are an issue than the relationship may not work out. However, if none of those are an issue (which was the case for me and my husband) than there's a great chance it'll work out.

For the most part, no. Unless you are really immature. If your popping your gum, saying 'like' and 'I feel like' and 'um' all the time and you spend most of your time on the phone, yeah, he'll bang and bail. But otherwise, if you are pleasant and peaceful to be around, you should be okay.
I am guessing this guy is pretty loaded, so just keep in mind a bunch of other women are into him too and all your friends will want to bang him. So make sure you keep him happy, or he will exercise those options.

Actually, the situation is a little bit complicated for me. My boyfriend is a successful and well-known chess player. There is an age difference between us, but we get along. I don't know if he's ready for marriage or if he's a mature man. Sometimes he's like a kid, sometimes he's a big man.

that highly depends on the age. because differences in personal development become smaller and smaller the older people get.

to make an inaccurate example: the difference in personal development that exist between a 11 and a 12 year old person is probably comparable to the difference between a 40 and a 50 year old. the older we get, the slower the development.

It may seem like an issue now, but don't worry about it. Age 36 and 24 is not big deal. Once he's 46 and you're 34, it will mean even less. At 56 and 44, no one even notice. 66 and 54- that is more or less standard for a senior couple.

Not really, as long as there is compatibility and mutual attraction, then no real problems.

Depends how old she is, if she is in her 40s probably no difference at all , younger ones can be too immature until late 20s
