Guys AND Girls: Babe vs. Baby - What's the difference?

I'm just curious to see what you guys thought about 'babe' and 'baby'. Is there a difference when you say/hear one or the other. Do you have a preference? What do each of them mean from your point of view? Are there certain circumstances where you will use one word over the other?

My guy calls me both "babe" and "baby", probably "babe" more often. I personally love it. It tells me he finds me attractive, and that he loves me.because I'm the only girl he uses them on : )

To me, they are both terms of endearment, but they have slightly different connotations.

Babe--I have gotten called this by strangers before, so I think it's a little less personal, and has more to do with appearance. For example, a guy says about a hot girl he doesn't know "she's a babe" or to a hot girl whose name he doesn't know, "hey babe." But it doesn't HAVE to mean that, and it can be very intimate. : )

Baby--this term is more for boyfriend/girlfriend relationships. To me, it means "I adore you" : ) but has a slight implication of "you're so cute." attached. But I would be a little insulted if someone other than my boyfriend called me that.

well ofcoures. I love words like these. babe you would often use in a text message to a boyfriend/girlfriend but baby is often texted meaning an infant or child. I just don't like how "baby" looks when I'm saying "hey baby what you doing", I think "hey babe what you doing" seems better. alittle more intimate. but when saying it in person you may say "hey babe apposed to the whole word babe-E" I think guys often say hey babe in person and girls say hey baby or sweetie. they say the word fully. in my oppinion, I hope that helped :)

I Call most of my friends babe (Becausei find them cute and I just hug em all the time lol)

my boyfriend doesn't use babe or baby, we think its a bit narfy insted (people are gonna laugh but whatever lol) He calls me "Cutie" And I call him "Handsome" (He likes it bless him)

lol I think people start out callin each other "baby" because it jus sounds cute. but when your're with your girl for a while and you've gotten used to her, all sudden you start callin her "babe". its a more laxed way of sayin "baby" lol, if that makes sense.

i always think that a guy calls his girl babe, and the girl calls him baby. It just sounds more right
