I personally think the silent treatment is an emotionally stunted form of punishment. Child-like mentality. Manipulative and controlling.

If it took 2 days to start wondering, that would signal issue for both sides. At any rate you should have already tried asking her what was wrong. Maybe your attention is on something other than her too often. If she has been not talking for that long, she clearly isn't happy. I don't know what she would be upset about that would be up to the guy to determine.

If I were counseling such a couple, of course I would want to know what happened before? I would ask her separately why she is so angry? What would she say? Maybe she’s tried talking but you don’t listen?

The. I would want to hear your side too. If they really can’t move forward the. It might be breather for both if they split.

This used to be my husband's go-to way of letting me know something is bothering him. He stopped resorting to the silent treatment after I told him I didn't mind the peace and quiet. So, I guess that's one way of dealing with it.

Relax and enjoy the quiet. She's using emotional blackmail on you. Do not chase her. Rise above her behaviour.
When she seems ready for a mature talk, sit her down and see if you can work through the problems. If you caused the problems, apologise. Be conciliatory.
