Is there actually "Plenty of Fish in the sea"?

I've always heard the saying "Plenty of fish in the sea" for relationships... Then why is it so hard to find someone? The last girl I fell in love with and actually felt feelings for is already in a relationship...

Like generally am I doing something wrong? Dating Apps don't work for many reasons, I've finished education so thats also out of the question... What else can I actually do?

I met my wife at a Walmart. I've picked up dates in the waiting rooms of tons of different places. There's no hard and fast rule on where it's appropriate to ask someone out, except maybe at a wedding, if the woman you are asking out is the bride.

I think it’s a matter of being in the right place at the right time and this doesn’t occur often. There may be plenty of fish in the sea but they all look and sound the same, experiencing that ‘rare catch’ moment is almost impossible.
