I've never really had close friends, and am basically a complete loner, so at first the question seems simple... If I were dating, I'd probably choose the girl, since I have no friends to choose over her... lmao. On the other hand, if I had a close friend, whom I've known for a good decade or more, I imagine I'd choose them over the girl.

You can always find someone else, but losing a close relationship, with a friend of many years, seems to be a far worse loss, than just some "girlfriend/boyfriend," without any other context.
