What is immature?

we often said that he or she's immature.. what is your basics before judging a person immature?

I've noticed two definitions of "immature" that depend on the context of the situation, one more synonymous with "irresponsible" and the other more synonymous with "ignorant/unaware."

Examples:
A child that is screaming it's head off because it didn't get what it wanted is immature, it is ignorant to all the machinations of cost, parenting, value, etc. and is generally blissfully unaware of how much of a pain in the neck it's being to everyone else.

Let's say an adult has credit card debt and a big paycheck coming up. They can either spend the money to pay off their debt, or go blow it on "having fun" because YOLO or whatever rationale they have for "living it up." They are also immature, because they consciously made a decision and willingly chose irresponsibly.

Immature is when a lifeform has yet to finish developing into an adult physically.

However most use the phrase as a way to describe what they personally think adults should or shouldn't act like, but thats full of opinion/bias, so who cares.

Well, the actual definition is
Not fully developed or
having or showing an emotional or intellectual development appropriate to someone younger.
But I'd add when adults try to shift blame/responsibility for their actions/inactions onto someone else. Or the childish games people play instead of handling it in a more mature way

Displaying what we perceive to be a more simplistic or childlike action or opinion. As with all judgements, immaturity is in the eye of the beholder and not consistently defined.

Although what is immature to me might not be immature to others... I think it depends on person to person, culture to culture...

Just not on the same level mentally, emotionally and in terms of goals. Its okay to be a child at heart but you gotta know when to be an adult and some immature people never know when its time to be a grownup
