Long read but what do you all think?

So ill try and keep this as short as possible. My ex girlfriend broke up with me in the beginning of December. We spent almost 3 years together we had a lot of great moments and a lot of bad ones. When i was with her my finances were a major issue. We also had trouble trusting eachother for some stupod reason neither of us has cheated or been with anyone else since the break up. She claims she los t feelings but won't tell me why. She herself says she's confused. We had sex a week after the breakup. Since then we slowly stopped texting and went through thus block un block phase. Admittledly i didn't handle the breakup very maturely and said and did some things i regret. On several occasions she would reach out and tell me she's broken/hurting but won't tell me why. She has some issues with family back in Europe but she won't open up to me about it. I did reach out to her for a favor back in feb and she helped. We started texting again but then eventually she ended up blocking me again. About a month went by with no communication. In that time frame i went from beijg very unstable financially ti having a 6 figure job. It sucks because i know so many of our problems stemmed from money and the issues it brought. We did in fact love eachother atvone point and talked of kids and family. Anyways Yesterday we saw eachother in a restaurant. I was getting a pickup and she was sitting right there woth her friend who i know. It was incredbily awkward and we couldnt pretend like we didn't see eachother. After about a min or 2 decided to just go walk up and say hi. Complete chance encounter and i was happy to see her. I walked up to the tabke and she looked incredibly nervous and shy. Her friend said hi and my ex said what are you doing here very coyly. It caught us both off guard. She couldnt even look at me. It was very tense. As soon as i could really say anything the hostess came back with my order and i left. I ended up txting her and to my surprise she responded.

I said something like that was incredibly awkward and that it really caught me off guard I said you look great and I wish we couldve catched up on life. She responded something like I know you want me back but I've lost feelings but I respect you. She says that she doesn't believe there's a way back and that she's also broken. She once again told she's not doing well and when i asked her why she says to just stop texting and that she's going to block me again. I said good night and thats it

One thing i want to mention her mom texted measking about something and she did mention that my ex has been literally crying for weeks. This was abiut 3 weeks ago. So im just all so confused about the whole thing. Anyways yeah.

Your last encounter woke up what she has been trying to forget since you split.

The fact that you talked to her and she felt uncomfortable about it only leads me to believe that she had a hard time to get over the breakup and now, everything came up to her mind.

I believe that you should avoid to contact her further and if you see her in the street, avoid to talk to her and even change street sides so she will not see you.

It is obvious that the separation has taken a toll on her but her decision is made not to think back of what could have been. She is attempting to make a permanent break and leave those times behind. Do not attempt to further contact her. If she wants something from you, then she will have to take the initiative to contact you.

Long read indeed.
I don’t know what exactly to think, but I think that it’s a very confusing and complicated situation, and it’s just better off to cut contact completely because the whole off and on, block and unblock is getting to be too much. Having feelings for each other afterwards and being sad about it the breakup is normal, but it’s a waste of time to just go back and forth and not make a decision to either get back together or not get back together and block eachother permanently.

Women want stability. I wasn't just unstable financially but i was all over the place for a while when i was with her. I got a great job now sure but I've also matured and i am a totally different person and i understand where she's coming from. Nobody wants to be with a man who doesn't have his shit together

There is clearly feelings then but the issue seems to be with her. Like why doesn't she just stay and talk it out. I hope this isn't some stupid test

She didn't block me and im glad that there's some form of communication between us but im not going to lie i do want her back. I just dont wanna rush things and push her away again i at least want try and take her out and show her how much I've grown and see where it goes. Is it a lost cause and should i really just move on or in your opinion do you think there is a possibility?

@Asker it sounds like a fresh breakup so I would think you have a high possibility if getting her back if that's what she wants. What worries me though is that she won't say what broke her. If it's not you then why should you suffer? So many questions. We need answers. You need to find out why she is so broken. I believe most things can be fixed if you get to the root of the problem

Her father was abusive towards her mother growing up and she never really came to terms with it. She left the country when she was young and eventually moved to the US a few years ago. She hasn't talked to her father in years. I know there's nobody else in the picture. Her mom told me when i talked to her and she's also not that kind or girl. I guess i fell for a broken girl and now i get a crazy confusing complicated situation thats impossible to make sense of. But i know if she spends one day with me we would get back together. And yes we broke up almost 4 months ago with off and on communication.

@Asker damn that sounds way complicated. Ok. She's broken but unfortunately u can't fix her. This is something that would take time and professionals if she is open to the idea.
