Am private some things yes know everyone has private stuff on there that we keep to ourselves whether porn or chocolate bars lol 😆 . Though I expect in a relationship it should be chilled with both phones on both sides.
if they both have same values and opinions. I get nervous if I needs to use my boyfriend phone for anything. Just in case. Because it’s private to him.

For me, your electronic devices are a private matter.
I don't think it's okay to go into someone's device without permission, and I don't want to give my password just to 'gain someone's trust'.
That doesn't mean I would never let a partner look at my phone. But I hate snooping. And I hate the feeling when someone looks into my phone or laptop.
It's not like I'm hiding anything, it's just uncomfortable and I see it as a sign of lack of respect.

I love having my own privacy and I just hate when someone feels entitled to poke into it without my consent. That's just not cool.

I wouldn’t want it doing to me. Looking over at my phone snooping sure not really fussed I haven’t got anything to hide.

Jade this is exactly what I am trying to say it some one needs to look at someone's phone or ask what they have been on or contacted regularly it means they aren't trusted. Trust means not asking and not seeing, but still knowing a partner is good enough to not cheat etc.

@deano1990 I get it with phones but 😆. It’s normal to ask what you been up to when you don’t see your partner all day. I don’t normally contact regular when out only now and then. Make sure everything is ok.
And sometimes I miss messages as well. Would hate to turn into them couples the barely talk about their day and do separate things all the time. Even when they been out short answers lol 😆 life be pretty boring otherwise.

I have 0 problem if my partner wants to go through my phone. I dont hide things from her anyway. I just feel if you can't even share that kind of silly thing then do you REALLY trust your partner?

Besides... she has fun games on her phone that I like playing.

If I give them permission to use my phone for some reason, then it's obviously okay.
But if I caught them scrolling through it, I'd think they were creepy. I would think that person was sneaky and untrustworthy.

Neither my wife nor I have anything hide from each other. We don't spy on each other because that would indicate lack of trust. Neither of us has any interest in going through each other's devices.

100% yes phones should be private it's up to the owner to decide who and what they want to show even to a partner. A phone is not a joint asset.
I still say it's wrong for partners to snoop over shoulders as detectives.

Long you trust your partner enough to not get angry asking over an app could be a marvel game. Or saying it nothing. Because that would wind a partner up in general. I try not to do it aswell.

I do believe that I agree with most people on Here there shouldn’t be anything to hide on phones. No point hiding stuff in phones.

karma has a way of find everyone out in end. What comes around goes around as you have seen happen in past with people. That why I see no point in hiding things or keeping secrets with phones lol. That’s just me.

I agree with a previous comment made on here if you have to see your partner's phone 📱 then that isn't trust that's knowing whats on the phone. It's a fine line. I don't feel the need to ask what's on your phone because I'm not fussed because I know you wouldn't talk to anybody behind my back. I get what your saying, but trust means not knowing just knowing your partner is faithful.

Just knowing their faithful honest truthful and like most relationships with a value to both be respected as people with the rule no secrets or lies in a relationship. That how long last relationships work. I have done my research on it.

Yes for me and the same for my wife's phone. They're private things for us. I'll be happy to let her use mine in a pinch and I'm sure she's happy to let me use hers, but not to snoop through each other's phones without permission.

I see a counter-argument here that a trustworthy person should have nothing to hide. My argument is that there's no point in trusting anyone if we leave them with nothing to hide. Such hidden surveillance is a sign of a lack of trust. Trust is what enables privacy.

I believe in a lot of privacy mainly because I think trust is so important. Actually, I think trust is more important than privacy, but providing privacy is what shows trust (ex: letting each other go out on our own).

I think it's important that both people in a relationship trust each other. I think it's wrong to look at you SOs phone behind their back or without permission, however if you ask and they refuse I would want to know why. I wouldn't have anything to hide from my SO and would be fine with them looking as long as they asked first
