Boyfriend told me he’s going on a trip with at the time we should have gone on a trip togethor?

We were planning a trip for 2 nights before I go abroad in a 3 week holiday. Close to the date we were meant to go, I asked him when were we’re gonna go. He told me he’d tell me in person, and he did when I saw him today. He said he needs to get a visa for a trip abroad, and picked the day to do this when we were going to go on our trip, even though he could have got his visa later. He said the travel time will be long, so he’ll be staying there for 3 days with a friend who also wants a visa. I’m kinda upset about this. What do you guys think of it?
