My boyfriend is going on a trip with his friend straight after I come back from mine?

I’ve been on a 3 week trip to see my dad. I arranged to see my boyfriend the day after I come back. He told me yesterday that he’ll be going on holiday with his friend abroad when I come back and he doesn’t know when he’ll come back. I’m kinda upset with him. Is it something worth getting upset about or should I overlook it?

Going abroad and not knowing when he’ll be back. That’s a pretty major trip he’s going on. I think you have a right to be upset if he didn’t tell you anything about this until super last minute. The least he can do is give you a damn good explanation for why this was so last minute.

As upset as you may be though, try to bring it up in a calm way that expresses more concern and a desire to understand what’s going on. Not all guys have the patience to communicate things if their girlfriend gets too confrontational and argumentative about something that could have been communicated in a calm discussion.
