Am I really this annoying or does my boyfriend just have a bad temper?

We've been together 4 years. Lately in the last year or so he's been blowing up at me over things that I think don't merit his reaction. But maybe I am just really annoying so guys could you give me your opinion? I'll just explain the last two instances that really pissed him off. In the last couple months every time I text him (also let me be clear I only text to make plans, never more than one or two texts a day) I notice he responds and then immediately puts his phone notifications on silent right after and when I go to respond I see this. Today I asked him about it thinking I was annoying him with what I asked or just in general wondering why this always occurs after I text him and he blew up at me and accused me of trying to start something and ruin his day. Should I not have said anything and just let it go? The second thing is he always forgets to turn the vent fan on in the bathroom with no ventilation at my house when he takes a shower with the door shut. He was taking a shower last week and I knocked on the door to see if he turned the fan on. Let's just say I should not have done that because he was furious. He accused me of being controlling and basically said he not so stupid he would forget to turn on the fan and he resents me for even asking. Why can't I just leave him alone during his private time in the bathroom. So just about every week I step on a landmine and he gets angry with me over something I think is minor. What is going on here?

So according to you it's not cool to text your boyfriend for plans to meet up. Also, don't speak up about the mold growing on your bathroom walls because he can't be bothered to turn the vent on when he takes his half hour long hot showers at my house. Thank you so much for your advice.

What’s the typical response that he gives you when he texts back? One or two words or a decent length of reply?

Might be cheating on you tbh. I know that’s not what you want to hear but it kinda sounds like it.

But really we only ever text when it involves plans, like what time to meet, hey do you want to do this on Friday etc so I hardly text him at all.. I just became confused because literally every time I'd go to look at his response it would say 'notifications' silenced as if he would just silence me on his phone immediately after I'd text him and that never happened before this year.

I understand you don’t text a lot I just wanted to know if anything had changed in that department as well as his temperament. Or he could just be stressed out over something and taking it out on you. Maybe ask him if he wants to try therapy or ask him if he’s stressed out? I’m not sure it just seems like very odd behavior.

So why don't you try leaving him alone. Don't text or ask any questions and see what happens. Frankly, I don't see what you find positive about this guy.
