What would you do if your girlfriend was balling her eyes out and was really upset about something? Would you give her space or jump in?

I would hold her, comfort her, be there for her. I would want her to feel my love and protection and care. I’d listen to whatever she wants to say. I’d close my eyes and hold her tight and tell her I’m here. I’d ask her if she wants to tell me what’s going on because I want to understand. If she talks, I’ll try to step into her shoes to feel what she feels and do my best to understand whatever is happening. I’d want to make sure she feels heard and understood and safe with me. I’d reassure of my love for her. I’d remind her that I’m there for her.


After she's let it all out, I’d ease into taking her mind off of things, maybe get some ice cream together or some other food she likes and just spend time together. I’d do my best to gradually lift her mood and cheer her up. I’d give her all the love and affection I can so that she knows she’s loved.

ask if they needed anything (could be physical or emotional comfort or needs, just anything) and follow the request as best as possible. If they want space they have space, if they want comfort they have it.
The same goes for friends (though I wouldn't cuddle a friend like an s/o but hugs or a shoulder to lean or cry on or whatever)
