How did you meet? How did you overcome the obstacles that got in the way? We’re there times you almost let go? What makes your relationship work?

My parents lived in opposite ends of the world. My mother was coming here witj a girlfriend for a vaction. At the last second her friend cancelled, but Mom came here alone.
My dad was sent here to go to University by my grandfather. Without any money.
They met at a friend's wedding. My dad was a very good dancer and mom was a tall redhead.
Dad called on her by phone, and mom's friend told her my dad was on the phone for her. Mom had to ask her friend what was my dad's name. My dad persisted. They go on some dates. Mom tells dad that she's sick, not feeling well and wants to return to her home country. Mom had a bad flu. Dad was having none of that. He went to mom's homestay, she was sick as a dog. My dad begged her not to leave and that he would take care of her. He asked her to marry him. My mom said yes so he would stop pestering her.
A year later, I was born. Flash forward, they celebrated their 50th anniversary. They were together until my dad passed away. My mom never remarried or dated again.

I met my wife when I walked into my home. She was there with her girlfriend and with my twin. She told her girlfriend I want the one who just came into the door. Next night she came back I made supper we ended up in the tub together. We made love all night.
A month later we married. Then I found out take her uncle. Raped her over a 5 year period. That made her very wild. She screw so many men. Every damn time I would forgiver her. Then more times. I forgave more. Then I learned I can forgive anyone who does anything to my life and that is powerful. We were married for 36 years one month and 5 hours. In that time in my experience. I had 18 bad years and 18 good years with her. She got sick I took care of her for 7 years. Last 3 years she was trapped in her body. I learned love. Taking care of her when she could not was so loving.
So I say that to say this. No it one can win an argument. Clear communication between both of you. Unconditionally love. That a good start

At your age I was already divorced twice.
