I don't usually cry in front of people, but today after a bad race I broke down and got kind of teary. My coach asked me how I was doing and I started crying, because I was disappointed by my performance, but he said I did a good job; however, I was still like an emotional wreck. I have a crush on one of the boys on our team and I really don't want him to think I'm a crybaby or attention seeker.

I wouldn't think that I'd actually think you're passionate about it and if I felt I had a bad performance I wouldn't cry but I'd get angry af at myself so yea I'd understand you

It's much more acceptable for women to cry. There's a high chance people would sympathize you instead like your coach.
If he thinks that than he is a douche and you will see that is not someone should ever be with.
Emotions are natural. If he likes you back I doubt he’s worried about this.
