I was talking to my girlfriend when she told me that she had a strong, and i quote 'STRONG' 3 year crush on one of her classmates (he is still our classmate and we are still in school). I asked her if her crush is REALLY over, to which she replied that i wouldn't be her boyfriend if it wasn't (she was the one who proposed). so my question is, do girls forget about their crushes or is he still a danger to our relationship? She also told me that I was her first crush but then our classes changed and it was at this time that she developed a crush on this guy. But after 3 years our classes again became same and she proposed me. She told me that she thought I needed to know this.(note that she didn't tell even her best friend about this guy, and never proposed him).
At those early stages in teenager life and even earlier in childhood, a crush could be considered something like puppy love; something that is not really very serious and that eventually goes away as you grow older.
I would think that girls tend to forget their first crushes quicker than boys would just because for girls, a crush is not as sexualized as for boys. When their puberty hits, then logic is something that is basically non existing while for girls, the crush is more something that comes from the heart.
I don't think that I ever had a crush on anyone because I was always the kind of person that was focused on school and not so much on boys (or girls).
