I was pointed to this forum instead of Quora or Reddit as was meant to be more serious. So here goes.
I live upstairs in an apartment. I've had the same neighbour downstairs for almost 3 years. We rarely spoke other than hi and bye. Both of us quite private.
During Covid-19 restrictions and being housebound, we started to see more of each other and a better friendship began to build. One thing led to another and after a few months she stayed over at mine and things went further.
This was more mutual satisfaction than a full blown relationship but it suited both our needs and worked well for us. Without the usual hang ups in some relationships. I was mid to late 20's she was mid to late 50's but the age gap didn't seem to worry either of us. And the sex was amazing without going into detail. This carried on for 6 months or so until restrictions began to drop.
During this period we got to know a lot more about each other. There wasn't a lot more to talk about.
She had a difficult background and was forced to give up her 2 children for adoption at a young age (hence I won't give her name). I sympathised with her as I was placed in care at a very young age too.
We did some digging around seeing if we could help each other find our lost connections to our families. Nothing much to show for the first few weeks. Someone at the history centre suggested starting a family tree which became very interesting.
Anyway. To cut a very long story short it seemed we might both be related. Scary!
Eventually we both took DNA tests and BANG! Talk about a small world.
These 2 hapless neighbours who had been sharing each others beds and bodily fluids were actually mother & son. I know some people will baulk at this but these things do happen. More often than you think by all accounts.
We still do see each other as we don't connect as mother and son and what we had we find difficult to put down. And our business.
Anyone know of anything similar?
