A reaction such as them saying things so hurtful, spiteful and vile. Things they normally wouldn’t say but you pushed them to say such things because they’re just that fed up with you but they still love you.

A person that expects another to treat them well after they have not treated them well doesn’t live in reality and is completely self absorbed. Should they go down to the persons level of course not but people who say I’m not responsible for your reaction blah blah doesn’t like to take accountability themselves most of the time. You get what you give in this life. It’s possible the person still loves the other the the relationship is killing them and controlling their behavior. That’s toxic.
