How important is it for you to know if your partner knows how to cook?
Did guy 1 went too far?
Context:
I'm at a table with 5 co-workers getting some lunch. We were having a conversation about cooking until the following happened:
Girl:" I don't know how to cook anything at all except for heating things up."
Guy 1:"Well you're never gonna get married if you can't cook for shit".
Girl:"Wow, *gets a little sad with a frown face*
Guy 2 and me:" Oohh, whoa" *in a shocking and a little negative tone towards Guy.
Guy 2:" I would marry you *girl*
Me:"*Since I'm the closest* (I hug her)
Guy 1:"Uh-w-well, if you can cook some chicken; you can get married"
Me (telling Girl while I'm hugging her):" Don't worry, the only thing that I know besides warming up some food is to make a steak".
Girl:"The only thing that I know to do is to make pasta".
Me:" Do you mean from scratch or a box ready to make?"
Girl:"Box ready to make".
Me:"Ah, ok".
