Why do people who spent years paying off student debt get upset when they hear about the possib of someone else getting their debt forgiven?

you would think that someone who spent years paying off debt wouldn't want anyone else to go through debt also but apparently they feel that if they suffered then everyone else should suffer too.

When I was a child I had a very hard life due to severe medical and mental problems but I was never jealous of other children because I knew my life belonged to God and not to other human beings.

It comes to the point were you feel like you suffered for nothing. Its not about feeling for others because the money you spend came from your pockets. that is money lost that you could have used to kick start your life as after graduation your rebuilding and digging yourself out of a hole. It is nothing to do with others as you feel like where is your pay off. Why couldnt you get a break like this.
