I was wondering what I should do and how can I get rid of my feelings for my supervisor because I know I won’t ever be able to be with him because he has a girlfriend and also because he’s a higher up than me.

I am not accusing or even suggesting this is accurate: So, is this some typical app guy or is this the right one at the wrong time guy?
You are acting like you are in or are just out of a relationship with the supervisor. What I am hearing is relationship guilt of someone who has a boyfriend and met the guy on Match who is everything that boyfriend is not. And, apparently you have a conscience too because both you and the Ex sense a change.
Happy New Year...
If you like the guy from match then commit to giving him a real chance, not a half-assed one because part of you is holding back on behalf of your supervisor. You need to mentally come to terms with the fact that you two will never happen, and staying single or reserving yourself for him won’t change that, so why put yourself through that? I think accepting all this fact whole-heartedly will be a big help in moving on.
In my experience the sensation never goes away, rather you learn to live with not having what you want for practical purposes.
