Why would he try and convince himself he doesn't like me?

I like this guy and I honestly think he likes me, too. He says all these things that scream "I like you" but then I feel him pull back. I really think he is trying to convince himself not to have feelings for me. I know he has a lot going on right now, but is that enough to convince yourself not to like me?

I honestly see where your coming from. You over think things like me. I say let back a little bit he's going through some stuff. But don't look into the situation to much. Just enjoy flirting. And then whatever is happeneing with him is over with I think you will see a change that will let you know for sure he likes you and he won't pull back

Depending on the situation, I can understand why he wouldn't want to complicate his life by having a girl in his life. For example, if he's leaving town soon, there's no point. Long distance relationships hardly ever work and only leads to heartache. So, he could be pulling back because he either doesn't want to hurt you or hurt himself.
